España win Euro 2008 after 44 years without a trophy

Yes, 44 years is a long time, as long suffering England fans will vouch for. They are not far behind, as its 42 years since they last won anything!

Anyway, Spain deservedly won Euro 2008 last night beating the dogged Germans 1-0. We were in our local bar in Lanjaron, the Flower Bar. As you can [...]

First attempt at stringing onions

First attempt at stringing onions

Do you remember the old days when a onion sellers from France or Spain cycled through the UK carrying onions and wearing berets? Do they still do that or have Tesco’s put them out of business as well?

Anyway, I had a go at stringing onions, of which a wealth of information is found on the [...]

The bathroom is full of Gecko's!

The bathroom is full of Gecko’s!

This friendly little fella lives in our bathroom. Its been identified as a “Moorish” Gecko, which makes one think that originally they were bloody good swimmers!

He keeps the insects at bay, evidently, so is most welcome here.

This photo was shot by my partner, Kiersten. Good effort eh? Havent a clue what sort it is but she say’s that maybe it is a “Silver Studded Blue”. Unusual and rare. Nice though.

Summit of Veleta, Sierra Nevada

Just had a great day out with clients on Veleta with the dogs. Funny to be sliding down snow slopes when Granada is baking in 32 deg C heat!

Well, it seems to have started! This [...]

Life for a part time veggie in Spain!

Ok let’s get this straight …………… I am a red blooded meat eater, always was and always will be!

However I happen to live with a woman who has been a vegetarian for over 20 years. It hasn’t been too difficult for me living with a ”veggie” as the veggie cooking world has been easy to get into. In [...]

The highest dogs in Spain

Our dogs, Bruno and Khumbu made it to the top of Mulhacen yesterday after a 5 hour ascent from the ranger station above Capileira. They were part of the Spanish Highs “team” that was helping in the ascent for a UK woman, who’s brother was killed on the mountain in 2006.

Snakes Alive!

Just found the husky playing “dare” with this little creature in the back garden! About 1.5ft in length but didnt try to unravel it to find out! Gave a big hiss at me when I went to investigate. Think its a “Ladder Snake” but am trying to get it identified.
