Just had a good 2 day whirlwind trip taking in the sights and sounds of the Tabernas desert badlands and the beautiful coastline of the Cabo de Gata in Almeria.

Desierto de Tabernas – wonderful as always. A must for anybody who enjoys walking in dramatic scenery. More info at Desert Walking Tours

Cabo de Gata – a bit disappointing. San Jose is a sprawl and a bit of a mess. Best coastal village I came across though was Las Negras. This was where I managed to capture the photo below. Any comments gratefully received ha ha ha!

We also had a look at Las Salinas bird salt flats area just west of the Cabo de Gata. Below is a panorama of the storks feeding. Use the scrollbar to move photo to the right.
