In my back garden……… The Sierra Nevada

I first visited the lofty summits of the Sierra Nevada in April 2000. Predictably we were greeted with lots of sun and snow. It blew our minds and had us rushing back time and again for more. Since then I have had the pleasure of experiencing these mountains in all weathers, at all times of the year. I never tire of them.

Thankfully these mountains have become my job. But the enthusiasm never dies. There is always something new to search out. New ways of doing old routes. In winter you can disappear for days and have wonderful wilderness experiences in complete solitude. I’m a lucky guy!

With 27 – 3000m peaks on the doorstep in the highest mountain range in western europe outside the Alps, we are spoilt for choice. Whatever your mountain pleasure be it walking,trekking, mountaineering, scrambling, ski touring or snowshoeing, the Sierra Nevada has it all in abundance.
